The high school portion of the story will be wrapped up in the upcoming Rascal Does Not Dream anime, which will be shown in theaters in Japan. With the announcement, a teaser image starring Kaede Azusagawa was made available.


The Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of Randoseru Girl arcs from the light novels, which are told in volumes eight and nine, respectively, will be covered by the new anime series. The Kaede teaser image is for the adaption of the first.

The 2018 Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl TV anime series and the 2019 film sequel Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl were both initially inspired by the Hajime Kamoshida and Keji Mizoguchi light novels, which are published by Kadokawa. In the series, the main character Sakuta Azusagawa assists several girls who experience Adolescence Syndrome, a supernatural illness linked to the social problems they encounter in real life.


The anime's director Souichi Masui, the show's composer and writers Masahiro Yokotani, and character designer Satomi Tamura are all returning. Once more, the animation production business is Cloverworks.


Inori Minase plays Shoko Makinohara, Maaya Uchida plays Nodoka Toyohama, Kaito Ishikawa plays Sakuta, Asami Seto plays Mai Sakurajima, Yurika Kubo plays Kaede, Nao Touyama plays Tomoe Koga, Atsumi Tanezaki plays Rio Futaba, and Nao Touyama plays Kaede.


As of December 2020, there are 11 volumes in the Rascal Does Not Dream light novel series, which debuted in 2014. Numerous authors have created manga adaptations of its arcs and volumes, with Rascal Does Not Dream of Logical Witch being the most recent to date (volume 3 of the light novel).
